Engaging and attracting new customers is one of the most challenging parts of running a business. You can be so focussed on the day-to-day business operations and dealing with existing customers it becomes hard to find the time for marketing.

Not only is marketing hard, but it’s also often incredibly expensive. Hiring a professional marketing agency is out of the reach of so many small businesses. Paying a chunk of money each month for an email marketing platform can be a pain if you don’t have the time to learn the confusing world of MailChimp!

What if there was an email marketing platform that was free and incredibly easy to use? By sheer luck, I managed to stumble across MailerLite and I was far from disappointed!

This blog post is not sponsored. I wanted to share with you a great tool that every small business should use to easily market and grow their business.

What is MailerLite?

MailerLite is an email marketing platform. You can use it to attract potential customer or store existing customers contact details. Then you can easily send out marketing emails to those people. You can effortlessly automate that process as well!

MailerLite is not just for sending emails, it also helps you create forms, popups and landing pages to attract potential customers to engage with your business.

I’ll delve deeper into the key features of MailerLite.

Segment & group subscribers

Like all decent email marketing platforms, you can store and segment your customers.

If someone comes to a shoe shop and buy men’s shoes they can be put into a group for ‘men’s shoes’. You can then send them emails about the latest men’s shoe deals.

This also ensures you don’t waste your time sending out emails about the latest high-heeled shoes to people who will just unsubscribe and delete your emails.

As I say, segmenting and grouping people is not a unique feature, but it’s good to know you can use MailerLite for the most fundamental tools.

Forms & Popups for your website

Where MailerLite jumped out at me is that you can use it to create really attractive forms and popups for your website.

With most website building platforms or tools you can create forms and popups for your website. The tricky thing can be to link your forms to your email marketing platform. With MailerLite you can easily build forms and popups and just copy and paste some simple code onto your website.

When someone fills in the form or uses the popup, their contact details are automatically added to your MailerLite account and they can immediately start receiving automated emails from your business. We’ll cover automation in more detail soon!

All parts of MailerLite are ridiculously easy to use. With a simple drag, drop and click, anyone can build highly converting forms and popups and become a pro-marketer.

Create landing pages & web pages

While forms and popups are tools other email marketing platforms offer with paid plans, with MailerLite you can also build full landing pages and even simple websites!

With MailerLite’s simple drag and drop builder, you can create a landing page for a product or promotion. You can push it out to the world through social media and start gathering interest in your product or promotion.

I built a fairly straightforward landing page to use as a price calculator for our business. You can try it out here. Not only can you use a MailerLite landing page to add some text and images about your promotion, but I was also able to use it to add up and calculate a quote.

If you don’t want a complex website, just a simple landing page to promote a product or promotion, you can build it easily with MailerLite.

Put your marketing into autopilot

How does a small business owner find the time to run a complex marketing system whilst also running their business. Consider a plumber, their out and on the road most of the day busily working to help their customers. How can they possibly find the time to reply to emails and attract new customers?

With MailerLite all you need to do is set it up and let it run on autopilot!

With the extensive automation options from MailerLite, you can send out regular emails and follow up on potential leads. All with minimal effort, or even no effort, on a daily basis.

Every form on the Tiny Blue Rocket website is linked to MailerLite. Luckily MailerLite is one of the marketing platforms that integrate with Elementor. All we had to do was pop in an API key into our WordPress dashboard to link our website to MailerLite.

Now when someone fills in our contact form, downloads an ebook or uses our website price calculator, they are automatically sent an email.

Each form is linked to an automation. If you fill in our contact form, MailerLite sends an email from us to you to say thank you and to let you know we’ll be in touch.

If you download one of our ebooks you will be automatically sent an email to say thanks and with a link to download the ebook.

If you use our price calculator you will firstly be sent your quote price in an email. Then, 10 minutes later, sent another automated email to let you know about our website payment plans.

All of these marketing emails were quickly built and set up in an hour on a slow day and now every time someone interacts with our business they are followed up with a nice thank you email. It took minimal effort, but it makes a big difference to people’s trust and respect for our business.

Any small business can look like a big, impressive brand with automated, professional follow-up emails.

How much does this all cost?

With all of these features from MailChimp, you’d be paying at least £10 per month. Even if you pay around £15 per month to MailChimp, you can only have 5 audiences to segment and send emails to.

All of the above features I’ve discussed are entirely FREE with MailerLite. You can sign up and get access to unlimited groups, popups, landing pages and email automation. As long as you have fewer than 1,000 subscribers and you send out less than 12,000 emails per month it’s all free. If you want to send out unlimited emails per month, prices start at approximately £10 per month, but with fewer restrictions for that price than with MailChimp.

I’ve been impressed with MailerLite’s options and services, regardless of the price. The fact that I and my business can have access to such a wealth of professional marketing tools for free is just amazing!

In summary

If you run a small business and you wish you could market and reach out to potential customers like the big boys, try MailerLite.

I’ve already converted one client of ours over to MailerLite and she is impressed! Try it yourself today for free.

If you have tried it out and need some help or advice, feel free to get in touch. I would be very happy to help you get started.
