Tracy Beviss reached out to us at Tiny Blue Rocket to get a website for herself as she became an independent driving instructor.
We worked with her to design a visually stunning website that would appeal to learners of any age. Read our case study to find out how we helped Tracy and can help other driving instructors get their dream website.
Simple, but powerful
As Tracy moved from working with a highly successful franchised driving school into being an independent driving instructor, she knew that getting regular learners was her fundamentally biggest challenge.
Tracy knew that most of her existing learners came to her from word-of-mouth. However, she knew that such a way of attracting new learners provided no certainties.
What Tracy required was a website to explain what she offers to learners and how they can get in touch.
From her analysis of other local driving instructors, Tracy knew that a simple, two or three-page website would suffice. She also recognised the importance of the website being mobile-friendly, SEO-friendly and GDPR compliant.
Eye-catching & appealing
After a detailed discussion with Tracy, the brief was drawn up. Tracy required a home page that covered the basics of what she offered as a driving instructor. She would also need an ‘About’ page for more information and a contact page.
What is interesting, and somewhat challenging, is the difference between some and most of the potential users of the website. Most learner drivers are in their late teens. However, there are still many people who come late to driving and might not start until they are in their 30s, 50s, or even later. Therefore, this website needed to capture the interest of teenagers whilst not putting off mature adults. Quite a diverse target audience!
When you view Tracy’s website you will undoubtedly notice the bold colour choices. Yellow and dark blue paired together is a vibrant experience. This was a deliberate choice to ensure no one would have a passing glance at the website without being enticed to look further!
If you are a local prospective learner driver you will have an abundance of choice for who to learn with. Most teenagers would be swayed by their friends or siblings and who they learnt, and passed, with. As with any business, word-of-mouth marketing is the most impactful form of marketing.
If you did not go with recommendations but wanted to search online you would find 30 or more websites for local driving instructors. Standing out is key. The colour and design choices for Tracy’s website ensure the website is modern, clean, clear, etc. Most importantly it is an unforgettable visual experience. Standing out is important, after all.
More than just a pretty website
It is increasingly easy to design visually wonderful websites. However, it is still very tricky to design great websites that can be easily edited and maintained.
There is no point designing a website for a busy business person, like Tracy, if she cannot effortlessly make changes to her site.
It is tempting for some designers or design agencies to make it near impossible for the client to make changes, so they can ensure they get recurring income for updating the website for a client. That’s not how we operate — we want to make our websites are easy to edit and as easy to love as possible.
As with our other websites, we built Tracy’s website within WordPress and using the Elementor page builder. Using Elementor ensures the website can be edited with a drag and a drop in a visual way.
Tracy’s website is also built to utilise dynamic content from JetEngine. This means that Tracy can, for example, easily copy and paste her client testimonials into her WordPress dashboard and have her new content dynamically appear across numerous pages. Every aspect of the website has been designed to be as easy to edit and maintain as possible.
Customer satisfaction is a top priority. I want Tiny Blue Rocket’s customers to be happy not just once the website is live but be satisfied every day with the website I built and the service I provided.
At Tiny Blue Rocket we pride ourselves on our perfect, 5-star reviews. Tracy’s review and feedback about her experience with Tiny Blue Rocket was no exception!
“I recently asked Alex from Tiny Blue Rocket for help to put together a website. Alex spent time really finding out what I wanted and how I felt the website should feel.
He then spent a great deal of time researching other websites within the industry to then put together this wonderful website for me, which looks much more modern, fresh and clear than websites of my industry competitors.
I am not at all “techy” and asked lots of (possibly silly!) questions, but Alex answered every one in an easily understandable way.
I have been extremely impressed with the service received and how quickly things were done, with very reasonable costs, I would therefore highly recommend others to use Alex at Tiny Blue Rocket.”
